(Irmo) May 5, 2003 - Denise Hartnett of Irmo has been working the phones
a long time. Three months ago it was to try and find a job, but now it
is her job, "I had been e-mailing resumes, mailing resumes, but just
watching that one particular Monday really helped me."
The Monday was March 24th. The listing that caught Denise's attention
was customer service openings at Call Tech Communications, "I called the
number that you gave out and they gave me another number which was Call
Tech. I set up the interview for the next day and I was hired on the
spot."
Call Tech is in the St. Andrews area. They have more than 100 employees
who handle customer service calls for lots of different companies.
Amy Hall says she and her cousin are also Job Market Monday hires, "She
heard that pay was good and about the benefits included, so we came and
applied for the job."
Denise says it's a job she enjoys, she's learning a lot and, most
importantly, it pays the bills, "It's tough out there and sometimes you
have to start out at a little bit lower level than you were used to, but
I feel real good about this company."
Call Tech actually has more positions open right now. If you have
customer service experience and know how to use windows, you'll have an
edge on the competition. The salary is $8 an hour, plus merit
performance increases.
Denise used a lot of things we've talked about on Job Market Monday to
land the job. She re-worked her resume and tailored the resume to the
job and she followed-up.
