CallTech Communications LLC will ask the city of Columbus for a
10-year, 60-percent jobs tax credit as it adds 400 new jobs.
CallTech, a Columbus-based company that handles customer service calls
for other firms, plans to spend $1.3 million to expand its west side
location and move into a new facility at 2500 Farmers Drive on the
northwest side. The company employs 611 in Columbus and plans to add 200
jobs at the west side location and another 200 on Farmers Drive.
The deal would save the company $1.1 million in taxes over its life,
although the new jobs would generate about $180,000 a year in taxes for
the city.
Mayor Michael Coleman plans to submit the tax deal to City Council next
week. CallTech has already obtained a five-year, 65-percent tax credit
from the state.
